Community guidelines
Last updated
Welcome to Asterune. We're building creative platform where anyone regardless of age, background, or experience can express themselves, connect with others, and have fun. To keep that possible for everyone, we ask that all members of our community follow the guidelines below.
These rules apply everywhere on Asterune: in-game chat, DMs, profile content, avatar customization, user-generated content, voice chat, and any other community space.
1. Respect others
Asterune is for everyone. Treat all users, players, creators, and staff, with basic respect and dignity.
Not allowed:
- Harassment, bullying, or targeted abuse of any user
- Hate speech of any kind, including content that demeans or attacks people based on their race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or any other protected characteristic
- Threats, whether direct, implied, or "joking"
- Doxxing or sharing anyone's personal or private information without their consent
- Impersonating other users, creators, or Asterune staff
If someone asks you to stop, stop. Continuing after being asked to stop is harassment.
2. Be mindful of content
Asterune is used by people of all ages, including minors. Content and conversations must be appropriate for a general audience at all times.
Not allowed:
- Sexual, explicit, or suggestive content of any kind
- Graphic violence, gore, or content designed to disturb or shock
- Content that sexualizes, endangers, or demeans minors in any way. This is a zero-tolerance policy and will result in an immediate permanent ban and referral to the appropriate authorities
- Detailed descriptions of self-harm, suicide, or methods of harm
3. Language and profanity
We understand that mild language is a normal part of everyday conversation. With that in mind, Asterune takes a tiered approach:
- Minor swearing (e.g. "damn", "crap", "hell") is permitted but may be filtered depending on a user's age settings or parental controls
- Moderate to strong profanity is automatically censored on the platform for all users
- Slurs of any kind regardless of context or claimed intent are never permitted and will result in immediate action
- Using intentional misspellings, symbols, or other techniques to bypass the word filter is a violation of these guidelines
4. No disruptive behavior
Keep conversations meaningful and enjoyable for everyone.
Not allowed:
- Sending repeated, identical, or near-identical messages (spam)
- Flooding chat with excessive symbols, line breaks, or random characters
- Deliberately disrupting games, events, or community spaces
- Advertising, self-promotion, or solicitation without explicit permission from Asterune staff and not using built-in features for that purpose
- Sending unsolicited links, invites, or promotional content to other users
5. No divisive or harmful topics
Asterune is a platform for play and creativity, not a venue for political, religious, or ideological debate.
Not allowed:
- Promoting, preaching, or aggressively discussing religious beliefs in a way that targets, demeans, or provokes others
- Political campaigning, propaganda, or divisive political commentary
- Spreading or promoting extremist ideologies, conspiracy theories, or content designed to radicalize others
- Content that glorifies, promotes, or trivializes real-world violence, terrorism, or tragedy
Casual references to faith or personal beliefs in everyday conversation are fine — this rule targets divisive, aggressive, or targeted content.
Exception for fictional political content:
Games and experiences on Asterune may be built around fictional political systems, factions, debate mechanics, or governance themes. This is a legitimate and encouraged form of creative worldbuilding. Content of this kind is permitted provided that:
- It is clearly fictional and does not reference, mirror, or promote real-world political parties, figures, or movements
- It is contained within the game experience and not used as a vehicle to push real-world ideology onto other players
- It does not promote hate, discrimination, or extremism under the cover of being "fictional"
- Debate or conflict within the game remains in-game. Players may not take disputes about fictional politics into general community spaces as a proxy for real-world arguments
Example of what's allowed: a space-strategy game where players govern competing fictional factions with different ideologies. Example of what's not: a game whose "fictional" factions are thinly veiled representations of real political parties used to recruit or radicalize players.
6. No cheating, exploiting, or fraud
Play fair. The experience is only fun when everyone follows the same rules.
Not allowed:
- Using unauthorized third-party software, exploits, or hacks to gain an unfair advantage
- Exploiting bugs or glitches. If you find one that affects Asterune's systems, report it to us so we can fix it for everyone. If it affects a game, report it to the game developer
- Attempting to manipulate the Asterune economy, such as by duplicating items, currency exploits, or market manipulation
- Buying, selling, or trading accounts, items, or currency outside of Asterune's official systems
- Chargebacks, payment fraud, or any attempt to exploit Asterune's billing systems
7. Protect personal information
Your safety matters to us, and so does everyone else's.
Not allowed:
- Sharing your own personal information (full name, address, phone number, school, etc.) publicly in chats or profiles
- Requesting personal information from other users, especially minors
- Sharing another person's private information without their consent (doxxing)
- Using Asterune to arrange in-person meetings with strangers
If you are a minor, please never share personal information with anyone on the platform.
8. Respect intellectual property
If you create content on Asterune, make sure it's yours to share.
Not allowed:
- Uploading or using assets, artwork, music, or code that you don't own or have permission to use
- Reproducing or distributing copyrighted material
- Claiming someone else's creative work as your own
9. Respect moderation and staff
Asterune moderators and staff work to keep this community safe and fun, and they deserve your respect and cooperation.
Not allowed:
- Ignoring, evading, or arguing in bad faith with moderation decisions
- Ban evasion — creating new accounts to get around a suspension or ban
- Attempting to bribe, threaten, or manipulate Asterune staff
- Abusing the report or appeals system to target or harass other users
10. Voice chat rules
All of the above rules apply to voice chat, but we also have some specific guidelines for how to use voice chat respectfully:
- Do not use voice chat to harass, threaten, or target other players
- Avoid excessive swearing, shouting, or disruptive noises that can ruin the experience for others
- Do not use voice chat to share personal information or solicit others
- If another player asks you to stop talking or to lower your voice, please respect their request
- If you are in a game with proximity chat, be mindful of your surroundings and remember that other players can hear you if they are nearby in the game world
Enforcement
We exercise a range of enforcement actions to uphold these guidelines, from warnings and temporary suspensions to permanent bans for severe or repeated violations. In cases involving minors or illegal activity, we will also involve the appropriate authorities.
Reporting
If you see something that violates these guidelines, please report it. You can report users, messages, and content directly from within the platform. False or malicious reports are themselves a violation of these guidelines.
For urgent safety concerns, contact us directly at Solarius support or email [email protected].
Appeals
If you believe a moderation action taken against your account was in error, you may submit an appeal. Appeals are reviewed by a member of our moderation team separate from the one who issued the original action.
To submit an appeal, contact us at Solarius support or click the "Appeal" button on your account suspension notice. Please provide any relevant context or information that may help us review your case.
