Cookie Policy
Last updated
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies Asterune uses, and why. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which sets out how we handle your personal data more broadly.
Asterune is operated by Solarius B.V., a company registered in the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce: 34262929). If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or use a web-based service. They are widely used to make services work, to keep you logged in between visits, and to protect against fraud and abuse.
Cookies can be set by the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by third-party services that the website uses ("third-party cookies").
2. Cookies we use
Asterune uses a minimal set of cookies. All of them are strictly necessary for the platform to function — we do not use any advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.
| Cookie | Provider | Type | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session / authentication | Solarius (first-party) | Strictly necessary | Keeps you securely logged in to your account |
| Security / bot protection | Cloudflare | Strictly necessary | Protects the platform from DDoS attacks and automated abuse |
| Payment session | Stripe | Strictly necessary | Secures the checkout flow when making a purchase |
Session / authentication cookie
This cookie is set by Solarius when you log in to Asterune. It allows the platform to recognise your session across page loads so you do not have to log in on every request. Without it, Asterune cannot function.
Cloudflare security cookie
All traffic to Asterune passes through Cloudflare's network for DDoS mitigation and security filtering. Cloudflare may set a cookie on your device to distinguish legitimate users from automated traffic. This cookie does not track you across other websites and is not used for any advertising purpose. You can read more in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Stripe payment session cookie
When you initiate a purchase on Asterune, Stripe sets a short-lived cookie to secure the checkout session and protect against payment fraud. This cookie is only active during the checkout flow and is not used to track you across other websites. You can read more in the Stripe Privacy Policy.
3. What we do not use
We do not use:
- Advertising or targeting cookies
- Third-party analytics cookies
- Social media tracking pixels
- Any persistent tracking technology beyond what is described in section 2
Our analytics are self-hosted and operate on aggregated, non-identifying data — no cookies are involved.
4. Legal basis and consent
Because all cookies we use are strictly necessary for the service to operate, they do not require your consent under EU cookie law (the ePrivacy Directive and its national implementations). You cannot disable these cookies without also being unable to use Asterune.
Where we rely on Cloudflare or Stripe to provide services, those providers may set their own cookies as described above. Both are GDPR-compliant processors operating under Standard Contractual Clauses. See section 4 of our Privacy Policy for more detail on our data processors.
5. Your rights
As an EU resident, you have rights over your personal data under GDPR, including data collected via cookies. These are set out in full in section 7 of our Privacy Policy.
To exercise any of these rights, or if you have a question about how cookies are used on Asterune, contact us at [email protected].
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email or via an in-platform notice.
