Privacy settings

Asterune gives you direct control over your privacy β€” how visible you are, who can interact with you, and how your activity is used to improve the platform. You'll find these controls in Settings β†’ Privacy. This page explains what's available today.

The set of privacy controls grows over time. We add new options as the platform evolves, so you may see more in Settings β†’ Privacy than are listed here. The short description shown next to each setting in the app is always the most up-to-date explanation of what it does.

Where to find your privacy controls

Open Settings β†’ Privacy to see your controls, grouped into categories. Toggle a setting and select Save to apply your changes. Each setting takes effect across Asterune once saved.

The controls are organised into the groups below. As we introduce new privacy features, they'll appear in the most relevant group β€” and new groups may be added.

Visibility and interaction

These controls decide how visible you are and who can reach you.

  • User discovery β€” whether other users can find you through mutual friends and discovery
  • Chat requests β€” whether people outside your friends list can request a conversation with you
  • Hide inventory β€” whether others can view the items on your profile

For more on connecting with others and how these settings relate to friends and following, see Friends and following.

Data and analytics

These controls decide how your activity is used to improve Asterune and what optional communications you receive.

  • Search history β€” whether your searches are used to improve Asterune's search results
  • Usage analytics β€” whether your product activity is used to understand what's working and what needs attention
  • Newsletter β€” whether you receive product updates and platform announcements

You can fine-tune what lands in your inbox more broadly in Notifications and email preferences.

Some privacy-relevant settings live outside the Privacy tab because they belong to a specific feature:

  • Reporting and blocking β€” to stop contact from a specific user, see Reporting and Blocking and muting
  • Parental controls β€” for accounts belonging to younger users, Parental controls add further restrictions on chat, discovery, and contact
  • Voice chat data β€” how voice recordings are handled is covered in Voice chat
  • Account security β€” keeping your account private starts with keeping it secure; see Account security

Your data and your rights

Privacy settings control your experience on the platform. Separately, you have rights over the personal data Asterune holds about you β€” including the right to access or delete it. How we handle your data, and how to exercise those rights, is described in our Privacy Policy. To make a data request, contact us at [email protected].

If you'd like to close your account entirely, see Delete account.

Getting help

If a privacy setting isn't behaving as you expect, or you have a question about how your data is used, contact us at Solarius support, or for data-specific requests email [email protected].
