Runes

Runes (T$) are Asterune's virtual currency. You can use them to buy avatar items, cosmetics, and content made by creators across the platform. This page explains how Runes work, how to buy them, and what to keep in mind.

What Runes can be used for

Runes can be spent on:

  • Avatar items and cosmetics — clothing, accessories, and other items for your avatar
  • Creator content — items, assets, and other content sold by creators in their games or on the marketplace
  • Username changes — changing your username costs 500T$ per change

Runes cannot be used to purchase Asterune Luminary. Luminary is a separate subscription and is not available for Rune purchase.

Buying Runes

Runes are available to buy from the Runes store. All prices are in EUR and processed through Stripe. You can pay with a credit/debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other payment methods supported by Stripe in your region. See Stripe's supported payment methods for details.

Larger packages offer a better rate per Rune. There are no platform fees on any purchase.

Promotional Runes

Asterune occasionally runs promotions that grant bonus Runes — for example, a limited-time top-up bonus on select packages or community events. Promotional Runes work the same as purchased Runes and can be spent anywhere Runes are accepted. Promotions are time-limited and may not always be available.

What you should know

Runes have no real-world monetary value. Runes cannot be redeemed for cash and are not transferable between accounts. They exist solely for use within Asterune. If you are a creator who has earned Runes through player spending in your games, see the Developer Exchange page — that program allows eligible creators to convert their earned balance into a real-money payout at a fixed exchange rate.

Purchased Runes are not eligible for the Developer Exchange. Only Runes received as creator revenue qualify. Runes you buy for yourself remain spend-only.

Runes are non-transferable. You cannot send or gift your Rune balance to another user.

Unused Runes may be refunded. If you've purchased Runes but haven't spent them, you may be eligible for a refund within 14 days of purchase. See our Refunds policy for details.

Runes may be forfeited on account termination. In cases of serious Terms of Service violations, any remaining Rune balance may be forfeited without compensation. See Section 8.3 of the Terms of Service for details.
